LISS Infant School raised £1,340 for Sport Relief after a young Great Britain swimmer, Anna Maine, talked to the children during an assembly.

The Year 1 and 2 children then took part in a sponsored ‘run a mile’ on Newman Collard Playing Field. There were medals for the fastest boy and girl from each class which were awarded to James Sykes and Holly Kail in Tigers Class, Gabriel Shields and Eloise Smith in Lions Class, Thomas Gibbs and Tiana Pateman in Hippos Class and Harry Rosewarne and Chloe East from Rhinos Class. The Year R pupils took part in a sponsored obstacle course. The rest of the day was devoted to sport, with judo taster sessions, tennis coaching, football coaching, hockey, multi-skills and balance biking. The children also held a cake sale, and each child paid 50p to wear sports clothes.
