THE PEOPLE of Liss paid their respects during the village’s Remembrance Sunday service.

Hundreds of adults and children attended for the Remembrance parade on Sunday, led by Liss Band to St Mary’s Church. The Rev Richard Hutchings led the service at St Mary’s Church.

The Rev Gay Horrex led the prayers, Lt Col Terry O’Connor led the act of Remembrance and Howard Leedham led the Act of Commitment. Wreaths were laid at the village’s war memorial, and youth groups in Liss were well represented.

Thirteen Liss Athletic Football Club juniors laid wooden crosses to represent some of the villagers killed during the First World War. The club’s wreath was laid by James Justeson, Joshua Hinsley and Sidney Young.
