VETERANS will hold a series of a poignant acts in Liss tomorrow, June 6, to mark 75 years since D-Day.

The Liss Branch of the Royal British Legion will commemorate the turning point in world history by raising the Union Flag outside the Rake Road club at 8am.

The ceremony will be followed by the laying of a wreath at the war memorial and the sounding of The Last Post.

The list of the village’s Second World War fallen will also be read out during the ceremony, which is open to the public.
