A BEER and music festival at Liss Triangle Centre was a big success, say organisers.

More than 200 people attended the event, which had a range of food and drink on offer for visitors.

The festival, on October 28, featured live music from Elsa Jean McTaggart and Rehab Blues. There was a selection of ten beers and two ciders, and the bar was selling wine and soft drinks.

The Triangle Centre has previously run two beer festivals in August, but this year was the first time the event was held in October.

Liss Triangle Centre manager Karen Feeney said: “We had more than 200 people at the beer festival enjoying ten different beers. The atmosphere was brilliant, the bands were excellent, and there was lots of dancing.

“There were lots of new faces in the Triangle Centre, and it was superbly organised by Linda Li-Davies. I would also like to give special thanks to Sally Tanner for her help, and the businesses who sponsored the event.

“We’ve raised a good amount of money to help the Triangle, which is brilliant.”

It was a busy weekend for the Triangle Centre, which also hosted a children’s Hallowe’en disco on October 29.

“We had more than 100 children at the Hallowe’en disco,” said Karen.

“The children had gone to a great effort dressing up. I must thank Tracey Stokes for organising the disco and all the volunteers who helped, as without their help the event wouldn’t happen.”

The Triangle Centre will be holding an Old School Disco from 7.30pm to 11.30pm on Friday, December 1. Tickets cost £5, and there will be snacks and a bar on the night.

Tickets are on sale from the Triangle office between 9am and 1pm on weekdays.
