A GLASS bottle found on the recent town centre litter pick and engraved with the words, T Hounsome Petersfield, is thought to be a ginger beer bottle.

But there appears to be no record of a bottling company, or ginger beer producer in the town.

A litter pick volunteer said: “I was sorting the collected litter, and there it was, it’s clearly an old bottle but how it came picked up we don’t know. I cleaned it up and it looks as good as new now.”

The bottle will now go to the museum, but anyone who who can help reveal its history is asked to contact the Post on 01730 232603, or email [email protected]
