FROM dealing with diamond rings to pet snakes, no job has been too strange for Brett Larmer to cope with over the last four decades of working around East Hampshire.
But his company CJ Hampshire – which has premises in Liphook – will be saying goodbye to Brett this week when he retires after 38 years of loyal service.
He has spent most of that time out on the road installing and repairing domestic appliances and a spokesman for the company said he will be sadly missed by both colleagues and customers.
They added: “Brett has helped many distressed customers - over the years he has removed everything from a diamond ring to a pet snake from washing machines and dryers.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank him for all his loyalty and hard work over the last 38 years.”
On a happier note, Brett’s retirement coincides with the wedding of staff member Melissa Spandley this Friday. She is preparing to get married to Sam Potter.
The company spokesman added: “We would like to wish them every happiness for the future.”
