LISS Horticultural Society held its summer show at the Triangle Centre.

The show was held on July 29 and was very well supported, despite the torrential rain on the day.

There were 387 exhibits, 57 of which were from children, many of whom go to the Triangle After School Club.

Sisters Lottie and Emilie James both won the cup in their age group and Tegan Harker, Owen Snow and Jack Walker shared the under-sevens cup in the children’s competition.

Although the vegetable exhibits were slightly down on last year the standard was very high. There were 68 cut flower exhibits, with Ann Haussauer winning the cup with the most points in this section.

Sandra Berriman and Sandra Gambrill gained equal points in the cookery classes to share the trophy for the year.

Janet Nash was the winner of the best photograph competition with a superb shot of a devil’s hawk moth.

The profit made from tea and cakes will go to Liss Unites for People in Need (LUPIN).
