POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence after two teenagers were chased across a playing field in Petersfield.
The 34-year-old man from Waterlooville was also arrested on suspicion of attempt to cause grievous bodily harm with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
A police spokesman said: “We’re investigating a report of a public order incident at The Avenue in Petersfield yesterday (Tuesday, August 7) at about 4.10pm in which it is alleged that a man chased two teenagers across a field with a weapon.
“We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or saw a vehicle being driven dangerously in the area around the time.”
