POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision which happened on the A3 near Clanfield on Sunday night.
A 35-year-old man was in collision with a blue VW Polo at 11.30pm on the northbound carriageway of the A3, close to junction one.
The man suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers from the Road Policing Unit of Hampshire Police are investigating the exact circumstances of this incident and would like to hear from any witnesses who saw what happened.
The driver of the VW Polo was uninjured and is helping officers with their enquiries.
The road was closed for over three hours while officers carried out their investigations at the scene of the incident. The carriageway reopened at around 3am this morning.
