TWO “LUNATIC joggers” from Portsmouth went the extra mile as they completed the Butser Hill Challenge and a separate marathon on the same day.

Athletes faced a tricky choice as the Butser Challenge coincided with a marathon at Queen Elizabeth Country Park on Sunday. But Tony Conway and Steve Marden decided to enter them both, as the pair were 19 miles into the marathon when they crossed the A3.

“They came over the road, did the five miles in the Butser Hill Challenge then went back to the country park to run the last seven miles of the marathon,” said race organiser Alan Shons.
