Eight mile tailbacks were being reported on the A3 northbound carriageway on the approaches to Guildford following an accident.
Motorists are facing delays of up to two hours due to the accident at the Cathedral Turn junction where the A3 passes through Guildford.
The news isn’t any better on the railways where there are delays due to signalling problems between Havant and Haslemere.
Some South West Trains services have been cancelled and other services are calling at more stations than normal to ensure passengers can continue their travel.
