A MODEL railway of the old Longmoor Military Railway has been set up at Liss railway station.

It was put together by members of the Liss Model Railways Group.

The group were supported in their project by East Hampshire district councillor for Liss Laetitia Pienaar, who gave them a grant.

Liss Model Railways Group leader Tim Pay said: “This was my idea and I came up with the idea in the middle of the autumn. We got a £600 grant from Cllr Pienaar, and Alpha Graphics and Coomers have supported us and been very helpful.

“Kevin at On All Floors also let us use his van to bring the model railway here. We have worked on this throughout the winter. I’m very proud of the model railway. I think it brings a bit of colour to the place.”
