A CHANCE to catch a powerful performance poet renowned on the national and international stage is being offered by Write Angle.
Joelle Taylor brings her brand of uncompromising and razor sharp wordsmithery to Peterfield’s monthly special guest and open mic night on Tuesday, September 20, at 7.30pm.
She has been praised aplenty by fellow poets, including Benjamin Zephaniah who eulogised: “In these times of austerity, hypocrisy, political corruption and mindless reality television, we need poets like Joelle Taylor.
“She’s fearless, gets right to the point, has purpose, observes the realities of modern-day life, pinpoints the absurdities and injustices, reminds us we are human.
“Her poetry has guts, rhythm and attitude.”
As well as being a spoken word artist, Joelle is a playwright and author, and has performed at numerous UK venues such as Dingwalls, The 100 Club, the 02 Arena, the Royal Festival Hall, the Royal Court, and Buckingham Palace. She has also taken her show into prisons.
