THERE will be something for everyone when a Petersfield church holds one of its biggest events of the year this weekend.

People who visit the St Peter’s Church Fete this Saturday will find stalls, bric-a-brac and an “enormous amount of cake”.

They can also try their hand at archery, listen to the sounds of the Petersfield Ukulele Orchestra or sample Italian food cooked by worshipper Fulvia James.

The Rural Refugee Network, Petersfield Infant School PTA and Greyhound Trust will also have stalls while young congregation member Elizabeth Fennell will sell creations made from Hama beads.

Proceeds from the event, which will be opened at 11am by Deputy Mayor Lesley Farrow, will be spent on making the church and hall more welcoming and accessible.

“Raising money is only one part of the day,” said the Rev Canon Will Hughes, adding: “We want as many people as possible to come along, explore our centuries-old building and enjoy themselves.”
