A WOMAN and her son are settling into their new home in Liphook after the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme helped to make their dream of a move become a reality.
Isabel Ballardie (41) and her son Theo (12) benefited from the Help to Buy scheme.
The scheme came to Isabel’s aid when she wanted to move into Kebbell Homes’ Orchard Farm development on Longmoor Road after attending an open day.
Isabel said: “My brother and I attended the open day at Orchard Farm and I thought I would never be able to afford a property there but thanks to Help to Buy I could.
“Being self-employed, it had always been tough for me to secure a mortgage.”
Isabel works from home and owns an interior design company.
“It was also lovely walking into my new home and seeing colour on the walls that I usually recommend to my clients but that I could finally have for myself,” said Isabel.
“The layout of the house is just perfect for Theo and I. For only a two-bedroom house, we never feel on top of each other and can take ourselves off to do our own thing.”
Isabel wanted to move to Orchard Farm to be close to Liphook’s Bohunt School which was named ‘Overall school of the year’ by The Times in 2014.
She added: “I rented nearby in Haslemere for 18 months to be close to the school. It’s now just a five- minute walk away from where I live which is ideal for Theo and I.
“The rest of the local amenities are also great. We’re close to a large supermarket, hairdressers, cafes and pubs.
“I also travel to London a lot so it’s wonderful to be so close to the train station and only a four-minute drive away from the A3.”
