CECILIA Knapp’s coming-of-age story covers a range of personal and emotional issues in a one-woman spoken word show.

Finding Home will be performed at The Theatre, Bedales, Steep, on Tuesday, September 13, at 8pm.

Growing up, mothers, and accidentally shaving your eyebrows are just some of the themes that Knapp explores in her first full-length theatre piece.

However, the main focus is her brother Leo’s suicide and how it has affected her.

Mapping her journey from a girl in a seaside town to life as a 20-something in the city, Knapp shares her poignant and meaningful story.

A blend of humour and storytelling helps to explain loss and mental health through words, projections, vocals and instrumentals.

The audience will meet the characters who have influenced her, listen to her old cassette tapes, and discover how she found home among chaos.

Cecilia has appeared on stages around the country, including performances at Bestival, Wilderness Festival, and the Edinburgh Fringe, as well as appearances on many BBC Radio shows.

Tickets are £12, concessions £10, and the show is for ages 14-plus. Call the box office on 0333 666 3366 or visit www.bedales.org.uk/events
