As part of the Remembrance Sunday commemoration in Petersfield, St Peter’s Church bell ringers rang rounds and a method sequence known as ‘Queens’ on half-muffled bells to honour the fallen.

Method ringing combines a short and simple-enough pattern for ringers to memorise with a few regular breaking points where simple variations can be introduced.

The bell ringers also placed a poppy wreath at the War Memorial after their Remembrance Sunday practice on the Monday evening.

Taking part in Sunday’s ringing and pictured above are Mary Broadridge (tower captain), John Downham, Jacqueline Downham, Alice Kidd, Madeline King (the tower secretary holding the wreath), Lauren Kidd, Erin Halder, David Malone, Nick Halder and Caroline Welsh, who also took the photograph.
