BLACKMOOR and Whitehill Women’s Institute hosted a very successful social evening in Whitehill Village Hall.
The amateur dramatics group performed a murder mystery play entitled Betty Blocker’s 65th Birthday Party.
Melanie Dent, playing Betty Blocker, welcomed WI members, friends and relatives as they took their seats for the three-act production.
In between acts guests were served a ploughman’s supper and dessert.
There was much laughter throughout the performance and after the dénouement players were given a resounding ovation in appreciation of a really entertaining and enjoyable ‘birthday party’.
WI president Yvonne Kilburn thanked all the actors and director Sandra Finch as well as the women who had provided and served a delicious supper.
