FOR THE first time, Petersfield’s a cappella singers The Free Radicals, and Petersfield’s brass quintet Quintessential Brass, will be appearing together in a musical evening to be held in aid of Petersfield’s community centre.
And, unusually for a fundraising concert, admission will be free.
Steve Sargent is the leader of both groups. He said: “We want to make this event free to everyone, and we’re certain that people will enjoy it and will want to make a donation to the community centre’s funds at the end, as they leave.
“That’ll be voluntary, of course, but we know it’s going to be a great night, so we’re hoping for the best on the financial front.
"We’re actually delighted to be performing for the community centre, which is one of Petersfield’s gems, providing a first-class venue for so many activities, classes, clubs and societies.
“It’s run by volunteers and deserves everyone’s support.
"At this concert, while sitting at tables with friends and enjoying drinks and refreshments from the bar, people will be treated to a varied selection of light and happy music in an informal atmosphere.
“It’s going to be a great night."
The musical event will begin at 7.30pm on Saturday, September 26, in the community centre in Love Lane.
