Roads underwater as isolated flooding reported around Herald & Post areaA proposal for 82 homes at Penns Field has been rejected by planners, while an application for 79 homes off Larcombe Road has been received by council officers.
A potential adverse effect on wildlife and the "substandard" design of the development were reasons given for the refusal recommendation last Thursday of the Kebbell Homes plan for the 82 homes at Penns Field, off Heathfield Road.
It was also felt there was insufficient information to show the proposal would not have an adverse impact on the local highway network, and no provision had been put in place to fulfill affordable housing, open space, education or transport needs.
The county ecologist objected too because no effort had been made to conduct any bat surveys on the site....
