HAMPSHIRE charity Community First has unveiled a new identity as it aims to adopt a fresh outlook and looks forward to a merger.

It says its new logo and motto – ‘Making life better for everyone’ – reflects its mission to expand its support for the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in the county and reinforce its position as a provider of essential community services.

Community First provides community transport, wellbeing services, surgery signposting, volunteers, development, training, recruitment and structural support to non-profit organisations of many kinds.

The charity has gradually expanded through a series of mergers which have allowed it to bring together local expertise and grow its capacity to support the voluntary sector to increase the scale of its operations.

In April it will merge with its counterpart Community First New Forest to broaden its role as a voluntary sector support organisation in Hampshire.

The enlarged charity will continue to provide its existing services and will retain its commitment to customer service and support.

The fresh brand underpins the charity’s focus on providing better and more sustainable services. The charity said it “expresses Community First’s principles and vision”.

Hywel Small, Community First’s head of enterprise, said: “The new design reflects a modern and progressive organisation that continues to put people at the centre of what we do.

“We want to show we are embracing change and constantly striving to find better ways of delivering high-quality, cost-effective support and information to help local organisations and individuals improve lives.”

Chief executive Tim Houghton said: “We’re delighted to unveil Community First’s new identity and logo.

“This refreshing of our brand strengthens our commitment to our principles of putting the community first and improving the lives of everyone, but in particular those who may be more vulnerable and rely on the community’s support to help them be happy and healthy.

“I’m particularly pleased our name is now an integral part of our brand, and I look forward to it underpinning our continued growth and success as a trusted service provider and partner organisation in Hampshire and beyond.”
