A NEW weekend event celebrating the last six decades – The Nostalgia Show at Stansted Park, near Rowlands Castle – is not your average vintage festival, combining British eccentricity with tongue-in-cheek fun for all the family.
Jam-packed with live entertainment, classic car shows, dancing and fashion, the weekend promises an old-fashioned village fair feel, including a fairground.
Whether you fancy welly wanging or wheel barrow races, kitsch Bingo or baking – or reminiscing in a deck chair sipping Pimm’s, the organisers promise quality entertainment for everyone.
Topping the musical bill will be the internationally-acclaimed Spitfire Sisters and their eight-piece backing band, alongside swing favourites the Ding Dong Daddios.
A spokesman for the organisers said: “We’ve pulled together a wonderful group of performers, from big bands to 1940s jazz to Northern Soul.
“We love the energy of the music, the vibrancy of the clothes and the whole community feel of the post-war years. We wanted to share our passion with like-minded friends.”
Attractions include a Best of British tent. For details and tickets for the event this Saturday and Sunday, from 10.30am-9pm, visit the website at: www.thenostalgiashow.com
