TAKE the lid off a legend in your local – that’s the premise behind a Shakespearian show with a difference at the Phoenix Theatre in Bordon.
Following his Nelson – The Sailor’s Story at the venue last year, actor Nicholas Collett returns with Your Bard, an informal audience with Will Shakespeare, on Friday, November 18.
There’s been a security alert at the university so professor Oliver Nother is giving his lecture about the Bard in the function room at The Shakespeare pub.
He doesn’t believe the man from Stratford wrote those plays, and that’s the cue for Will to kick the door off the hinges and defend his reputation.
He’ll tell you all about his family, what it’s like on tour and the glory days at The Globe.
You’ll meet Queen Elizabeth 1 and Christopher Marlowe along the way, and there may be the odd sonnet or song too.
The performance is at 7.30pm. Tickets are £11 (£10 for concessions).
