Rush hour traffic has slowed to a standstill on one of Petersfield’s most notorious roads.

People who have called for traffic lights to be installed on at the ‘deadly’ Durford crossroads on Pulens Lane have had their wish granted – for now.

Temporary traffic lights have been installed while BT Openreach carries out work on the corner of Heath Road and Pulens Lane.

Work should be completed by August 28 but it’s definitely slowed traffic on a road synonymous with speeding, with vehicles heading south backing up to Moggs Mead and Love Lane around 5.30pm on Monday (August 17).

And both residents and motorists could get more of the same from October onwards with safety improvements due to take place.
