AS A RESULT of research by Sheet Church’s history team, most of the information from the old parish registers which are held at Hampshire County Record Office in Winchester has been transcribed.
All the baptisms have been transcribed and most of the marriages. When these are complete, burials will be added to a digital record, all of which will aid people who are looking into their own family histories.
At the St Mary Magdalen Church 150th anniversary history exhibition, volunteers will be on hand to meet people and there will be a notebook to collect inquiries and memories.
The exhibition is on from Sunday from 1-5pm and then July 2-7 daily from 10am-4pm. Free entry and all are welcome.
