A GLIMMERING panto with plenty of polish – of a certain lamp – is the Christmas treat in store at Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.
Make all your festive wishes come true with family favourite Aladdin, starring multi award-winning musical theatre performer Janie Dee as the Genie.
Janie has won the Olivier, Evening Standard and Critics’ Circle awards for Best Actress and other prestigious accolades for her stage work.
Joining her in this magical tale from the Far East, from tonight (Friday) to January 8, is the ultimate panto villain, Kit Hesketh-Harvey, who returns to Guildford as Abanazar.
Taking the title role is Emma Thornett, who comes from captivating audiences in the West End production of War Horse.
Breakfast show host Peter Gordon of Eagle Radio will be frocked up as iconic panto dame Widow Twankey, and panto favourite Jamie Brook will be armed with a water pistol and custard pies as lovable Wishee Washee.
Film actor Ray Griffith plays PC?Pongo. The show features spectacular costumes, with sequins aplenty, and stunning sets.
