SOUTH Harting residents are busy preparing for their annual pre-summer fair on Bank Holiday Monday, May 28, with a mix of old favourites and new attractions.
The fair day, which has existed in some form since the 1800s, will see roads in and out of the village closed, as its centre is taken over by stalls, attractions and entertainments.
The annual Harting Festivities starts with the early morning Old Club march along the High Street to the village church, followed by community-led fun and games.
During the day there will be a full programme of children’s activities including face painting, fancy dress competition, carousel, juggling and storytelling.
Adults and children can explore Harting’s history at a film show and antique picture books display in the church’s Law Room.
