A PLAY written and performed by Mark Carey, Into the Breach, comes to East Meon Village Hall this Saturday, October 31, at 7.30pm.

The performance centres around character George Crocker, who is keen to liven up his dull life. So he decides to join the village drama club. What happens then turns his world upside down.

Billed as ‘one man’s battle with Shakespeare’ it aims to make the Bard’s Henry V more accessible for a modern audience, especially children.

Set during the Second World War, this nostalgic, funny and moving story is suitable for ages ten years and older. It is a vivid portrait of village life with all 17 colourful characters played by one man.

Tickets are £8 and £10, from [email protected] or 01608 682106.
