Onlookers amazed as car bursts into flames in Petersfield road

THERE were dramatic scenes as a car parked in Durford Road, Peterfield, burst into flames on Sunday (April 12) just before 5pm.

Amazed onlookers said the light blue Fiesta parked opposite the Londis store started smoking and then caught ablaze. Firefighters from Petersfield used two hose reels to extinguish the fire.

Eyewitness Charlie Essex said:?"It was crazy – the fire started to climb up the telegraph pole. Tyres started popping; luckily they got to it before it hit the fuel tank."
