FORMER?drug and alcohol abuser Pamela Roberts has just graduated and says she owes her life to the Open University.

After years of abuse, leading to depression, thoughts of suicide and a stint in a psychiatric hospital, her mum signed her up for a psychology degree with the OU.

And the six years of study proved to be not only a life-saver for Pamela but helped her identify her own mental health issues and seek help.

The 56-year-old from East Meon is now back at the hospital in Surrey where she was admitted after a breakdown – managing the addictions team....
