A HIGHFIELD Road pensioner who enjoys a short walk to help keep fit is asking cyclists not to ride along the paths he uses, as biking is banned on them.
Most mornings David Lloyd walks down Highfield Road to Woods Meadow and back again. Or he goes under the railway line to North Road.
He said: “I have been doing this for some years; walking to a seat in Woods Meadow, and sitting and chatting to passers-by.
“The disappointment is the number of cyclists who ride along the paths, often forcing me to share my walk with stinging nettles.
“There was a ‘no cycling’ sign but some vandal broke it. So please dismount and push your bikes along those paths.”
