THE THEME of people’s stories is behind a photographic exhibition by Allan Cox at Petersfield Museum.

Allan Cox, Boy from Surrey, Curriculum Vitae explores creations with a story behind them in his display which can be seen from Tuesday, May 23, to Saturday, May 27.

It has been inspired by a talk Petersfield-based children’s writer Michelle Magorian gave at Mayfield School in Portsmouth as part of the city’s festivities.

She told the students and parents that everyone had a story to tell, it was just a case of finding the right medium for them to tell it in, be it a novel or autobiography, music, dance, art or simple story-telling.

After visiting various local art exhibitions, Allan realised that for him, the most interesting creative processes had a story linked to them.

As part of the exhibition, there will be activities for children based on the theme of ‘stories’, on Saturday, May 27. These literary activities are open to children of all ages and are drop-in sessions from 10am to 4pm.

The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm. An entry fee applies to adults, and children go free.
