A PETERSFIELD ballet student with ambitions to dance professionally has been selected to appear in a show in London.

Jamie Cooper, a Year 8 student at The Petersfield School, was the only boy in his class at the Central School of Ballet chosen to dance in the school’s May show.

Jamie started dancing at Petersfield Academy of Dance aged three, and since 2015 he has attended the ballet school in London every Friday and Saturday for rehearsals and dance classes.

Before half term he toured with the London Children’s Ballet and was Grandfather in the company’s adaptation of Little Lord Fauntleroy. Jamie also recently gained a Distinction in his Grade Four Ballet exam.

He said: “It’s hard work, but my ultimate ambition is to be a professional ballet dancer with an English company.”
