THE PETERSFIELD branch of a high street bank will be closed for a fortnight as it’s undergoing a major revamp.

Lloyds will have a “modern new look” when its branch in The Square reopens on September 20 as it closed last Friday for a three-week refurbishment.

But until then customers of the bank will have to travel to other branches with next nearest being at Liphook, Midhurst and Waterlooville.

Customers will be greeted with screen-less counters and more tablets and self-serving banking machines when the branch reopens in two weeks’ time.

“Branches are a vital part of our strategy and we are investing in our network to make sure it’s right for the future and for our customers,” said a spokesman for Lloyds Bank.

“As part of this, we will be transforming our Petersfield branch, introducing new technology and a new, contemporary, look and feel.

“It will continue to offer a wide range of services.”
