ONE OF the oldest clubs in Petersfield is holding an open day to attract members.

Petersfield Bowling and Snooker Club, which is also a social club, opened in 1908.

Behind it is a full size bowling green, hidden from view, and shielded from the weather, by the side wall of Petersfield Infants School.

A club spokesman said: “The club has always maintained a warm and friendly atmosphere which has contributed to its success over the years.”

The open day tomorrow (Saturday) is from 11.30am to 2pm, with the bar open from noon to 2pm. Tea, coffee and cakes will also be on offer.
