Built in the 1970s on land donated by former Petersfield mayor Elsa Bulmer, the home is owned by Hampshire County Council, which agreed in December 2013 it should be closed and knocked down.
Despite hundreds of Petersfield residents signing a petition to keep it open, the closure went ahead....
