A CHURCH in Petersfield is hosting a carol service especially for those whom Christmas isn’t such a happy holiday.

The service in St Peters Church in The Square will include the weaving of a Cloth for the Cradle, in a shared act of healing.

St Peters Vicar Reverend Will Hughes said: “Not everyone finds it easy to be joyful at Christmas. “For some it is a difficult time, when the noisy celebrations of the world around them are at odds with the way they feel.

“Perhaps they have been bereaved, and are facing Christmas alone. Or maybe divorce or separation has meant they are missing loved ones. Perhaps illness makes it impossible for them to join in with the Christmas cheer.

“Everyone will be warmly welcomed and invited to stay for light refreshments after the service.”

The Blue Carol Service, will be on Monday, December 21, at 6pm, and includes peaceful carols and readings and a chance to shed any fears, sadness, or unhappy memories.
