THE CHAMPION fundraisers of Petersfield’s Save the Children branch have done it again.

Refreshing the format of the popular annual sale last Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Festival Hall in Petersfield led to in excess of £40,000 in sales, according to the charity’s spokesman Prue Rushmer.

Hard work by dozens of volunteers in setting up and running the event selling clothes, household furnishings and bric-a-brac, included several innovations by organiser Penny Blois.

Clothes were arranged in sections by size with personal shoppers on hand to help with chosing co-ordinating items and there was a vintage room with classic garments on display while opening until 9pm last Thursday attracted customers unable to shop during the day.

East Hampshire MP Daman Hinds and the Mayor of Petersfield, Lesley Farrow, visited the Boutique Bonanza.

Prue said: “Another innovation was a fashion show on the Wednesday evening before to thank our volunteers and sponsors.

“We are grateful to Travis Perkins, Littlejohns, Reeves, Tesco, Picketts and Pursers, Arnolds opticians and Agincourt builders plus the General Wine Company which is also sponsoring our next event on?May 17, an evening with the chairman of Save the Children, Peter Bennet Jones. Also to Petersfield Air Cadets and Liss Scouts who helped with the clear up.”
