A CHARITY golf day, dinner and auction organised by a Petersfield cancer sufferer went with a swing.

Around 50 golfers took part in the event at Petersfield Golf Club which has so far raised more than £2,100 for the Orchid charity, fighting male cancers.

Neil Hadaway (45), who was diagnosed with testicular cancer in January, has been raising awareness of the need for men to get symptoms checked out.

He was delighted with the support, and the amount raised.

“It was an amazing total and everyone who turned up made it a fantastic day,” he said.

He thanked all the sponsors too, many of them local businesses.

Following treatment Neil, an installer with Petersfield conservatory company Alitex, is now in remission.

“My mission is to get out there and raise awareness,” he said.

“There are definitely more and more guys who know me now and want to talk about it.”
