A Petersfield-based personal development coach hopes to inspire women with her debut book on finding purpose, confidence and fulfilment.

You Are Meant For Something Bigger, by Mikaela Jackson, was published earlier this year.

Ms Jackson, who has spent more than 10 years coaching purpose-driven women, leaders and founders, said the book is aimed at “ambitious women who feel there is more to life than what they are currently experiencing.”

“Over the past 10 years, I’ve witnessed the transformation that happens when women create space to focus on themselves, gaining clarity and reconnecting with who they are,” she said.

“This book is about helping women claim their power, realise their potential, and lead from purpose to create ripple effects of positive change in their work, their lives, and the world.”

Ms Jackson’s own journey into personal development began in 2013, when she reached a turning point.

“I hit a bit of a low point and realised I wasn’t happy in my job, my living situation, or my relationship,” she said. “Only I could make the change.”

She said coaching transformed her life, leading to her meeting her husband and starting her own business.

After leaving her role in technology recruitment, she founded She Almighty in 2016.

“I knew I wanted to have my own business, and I thought, ‘I’m 29, if I’m going to do it, I’ve just got to go for it,’” Ms Jackson said.

“I thought, ‘I think I could be good at this, and I think it could help people.’”

The book draws on her decade of experience coaching women through career, business and life transitions.

Ms Jackson said the idea came from noticing recurring challenges among her clients.

“I felt like I kept taking my clients on the same journey — the same themes and challenges kept coming up again and again,” she said.

“I love books. I love personal development. I wanted to create something that could reach more people than just one-to-one conversations.”

The title reflects her belief in untapped potential.

“A lot of people feel like they’re on a quest for purpose, and that’s something I resonated with and heard from my clients all the time,” she said.

“Success doesn’t have to be a title or a salary — it’s about defining what actually feels meaningful to you.”

Writing the book took two years, with Ms Jackson balancing the process alongside raising two young children.

“The writing itself was joyful, but everything around it, like editing and publishing, took more out of me than I expected,” she said.

Since its completion, she said the response has exceeded her expectations.

“Seeing my book on the shelves in Waterstones feels like a huge achievement,” Ms Jackson said.

“It’s exciting, but also nerve-wracking, because now people are actually reading it.”

She hopes the book will encourage women to follow their passions and define success on their own terms.

“What are you genuinely interested in? What do you love doing? I’d nurture that as much as possible,” she said.

“Even if it’s the harder path, it’s worth it.”
