IT WAS a frustrating start to the week for Petersfield commuters this morning (Monday) with trains delayed due to Storm Imogen.
Drivers on South West Trains have been slowing up because of the gale force winds, as a safety precaution and to watch out for fallen debris on the lines.
Early morning trains from Portsmouth to London, via Petersfield, were delayed for up to two hours, and disruption is expected until rush hour this afternoon, around 5.30pm.
Normal train speeds will be reinstated at 3pm this afternoon, although some delays are expected to continue for a time as services make their way across the network.
“We will be working hard to return services to normal for evening peak-time journeys,” said a spokesman.
