THE ANNUAL summer antiques fair at the Festival Hall in Petersfield saw furniture and English porcelain, in particular, sell well.
The three-day event, organised by Caroline Penman of Penman Fairs, has over the years come to be regarded as Hampshire’s premier antiques sale.
Spokesman Duncan Phillips said: “Despite being wet on the Friday there was a good turnout, and the weekend was very busy.
“Interest in antiques is undergoing something of a revival at the moment.
“This was borne out by the interest shown at the fair especially in furniture and English porcelain, and this was reflected with some big pieces of furniture being sold on the Friday, and lots of porcelain going for good prices.
“Many of the vendors are from the local area, such as Worthing, and, as always, Petersfield Bookshop was there, and seemed to be busy.”
The next Penmans Fair in the Festival Hall is on the first weekend in February next year.
