A CAR fire on the verge of the northbound A3 brought rush hour traffic to a standstill on Thursday, May 22.
The driver managed to escape but the fire, which began at 6pm close to the Clanfield and Chalton exit, completely destroyed the vehicle.
Two fire engines were deployed from Petersfield while firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a Compressed Air Foam System jet to extinguish the fire.
