PETERSFIELD Food Bank is appealing for specific donations in the run up to Christmas.
Run by the Petersfield Area Churches Together (PACT) members, it handed out 35 food parcels during September and October.
Food bank spokesman Audrey Hollingbery said: “We are particularly short of toilet rolls, drinking chocolate, long life milk, sugar, tinned and packaged puddings, and toothpaste and toothbrushes.
“Donated items can be left in the Food Bank boxes in most churches and at Win ton House.
“Financial contributions are also always welcome as this helps fund our fresh food voucher scheme.”
Items can also be given to Food Bank volunteers, who are at the Methodist Church in Station Road on Mondays and Wednesdays, where the donations are sorted and stored, or at the Salvation Army hall in Swan Street on Tuesdays and Fridays, when food parcels are given out.
To be eligible for a food parcel an allocation form must be approved by one the relevant member organisations: food cannot be given out on the day.
