FAMILIES are being invited to have fun at a wild and wonderful weekend.
The Secrets of the Heath festival will be returning to Petersfield this weekend.
It is organised by the Heathlands Reunited project, a partnership which is led by the South Downs National Park Authority and takes place at Petersfield Heath.
It will give families and people of all ages the opportunity to discover the horrible histories and wonderful wildlife of the South Downs heathland.
Children can join in a Saxon shield battle, come face-to-face with a highway woman and meet the snakes and lizards which live on the heathland.
This year, a new event will take place. The Countryside Dog Challenge will be held with dog behaviour expert Natalie Light.
She will be on hand on Saturday to give free tips and training.
As well as re-enactments, visitors can meet cows and sheep and on?Saturday night there is the chance to join in with a bat walk.
The event takes place this Saturday and Sunday from 11am until 5pm.
