A CAMPAIGN has been launched in Petersfield to save a charity which supports vulnerable people with disabilities who are looking for love.
Stars in the Sky, manned by volunteers, helps often isolated and lonely clients feel safe when they go out to socialise and meet people online.
But the volunteer-driven organisation has been struggling with funding cuts.
Organisers approached FitzRoy, of Hylton Road in Petersfield, a national charity for people with learning disabilities, to see if it could save the group.

FitzRoy chief executive Anna Galliford said:?“We’re setting up Love4Life to fundraise to save Stars in the Sky, as it does a vital job preventing loneliness and helping people with disabilitues find love and enjoy life.
“The sad reality is that for many people with learning disabilities the chance of finding love is impossible because they face abuse and harm when going out, or using online dating services. Because of this they can end up lonely and isolated.”
Volunteer Mark Foster said the foundation of support and encouragement given by Stars in the Sky was vital to the confidence and sense of self worth to those looking for friendship, understanding and love. For how to support the campaign visit www.fitzroy.org/Love4Life
