Petersfield Lions Club held a Swishing Party in St Peter’s Church Hall, raising funds for Naomi House & Jacksplace.

It was a fun way to swap unwanted items and benefit an incredible charity.

Petersfield Lions Club thanked everyone who contributed to the Swishing Party.

The event on September 24 was supported by Tesco Superstore, The Causeway and COOK in Rams Walk, who donated the food.

A spokesman said: “We raised more than £450 for Naomi House & Jacksplace on the night and their representative took the remaining items back to sell in their shops, hopefully making the same amount again.

“These are hospices supporting life-limited and life-threatened children and young adults in Hampshire and surrounding counties.

“To ‘swish,’ you and your friends bring items of clothing in good condition that you no longer want, and trade them for something that is new to you! Swishing parties are also eco-friendly as they help to reduce new clothes manufacture.” The trend was launched by Baroness Jenkin, who said they were a tremendous way for people to revive their wardrobe.
