FIRST aid courses could be a lifeline for Petersfield mums scared they may not know how to help their child in a medical emergency.
Organised by Petersfield branch of Mummies Club, the first course in the Avenue Pavilion in Petersfield, was a great success, organiser Helen Smith said.
She said: “It was a fantastic success, with a mixture of mums, dads, grandparents and older siblings coming along.”
The course was given by Kim Ronaldson, of First Aid Development, and covered a host of need-to-know aspects of first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), management of head wounds, choking, and how to use a defibrillator.

Building on the success, Helen says she now plans to hold a series of two-hour first aid sessions at the same venue in Petersfield.
She added: “Attendees walked away confident that they now have the core skills needed to offer first aid in a family setting, there were a lot of smiles all round.”
