PETERSFIELD Museum is appealing for volunteers to help with visitor services, collections management, and for assistance in excavations and education on the Heath.

A spokesman said: "We have recently started to work more closely with other heritage and conservation organisations in the South Downs to improve the volunteer management programme including training and recruitment.

"The museum has made a start by placing itself on a volunteer map established by the South Downs National Park Authority."
