AWARD-WINNING Petersfield photographer Tina Bolton is featured in a TV documentary that enters the world of luxury through the eyes of the planners who help the super rich spend their cash.
In the one-hour special, The Millionaire’s Gift Guide goes behind the scenes of the specialist companies and personal shoppers who provide bespoke luxury services for the super-rich at Christmas.
During filming Tina worked with a children’s events organiser who provides bespoke luxury services in the form of magical, dreamlike parties.
Tina said: “I directed and photographed some very special events which took place at Aynhoe Park stately home in Oxford.” The BBC2 programme, being shown at 7pm on Sunday, reveals how the decadence of the richest one per cent has created a whole new industry of high-end planners, ready to deliver the most extravagant requests.
From Christmas decorations encrusted with precious gems and crackers containing pearls to suits threaded with gold, platinum or diamonds, and from £5,000 snow globes to million-pound watches, the filmmakers followed the planners as they met the highest of expectations.
The documentary reveals how the phenomenon of the ‘platinum party planner’ has given rise to a booming industry.
